Section 18
Removal from service and reduction in rank
(1) The Government of Nepal may remove or dismiss any person employed in the Nepali Army (2) The Commander-in-Chief may lower or reduce the rank or remove from service any person employed in the Nepalese Army, except for officers.
(3) The spouse of chamu, pritana, vahini or the like, or an officer who has the same authority, may remove from service or reduce the rank of any person under him, except the officer and the rank and file.
(4) The commanding officer of the unit, sub-unit may remove from service or reduce the rank of soldiers of lower rank and rank under him.
(5) Exercising the right under this section shall be subject to this Act or the rules made under this Act.
(6) An opportunity to clean up will be provided while taking action under this section.
(7) After or when any person falling under the jurisdiction of this Act is relieved of duty, his commanding officer shall give him a certificate of opening of the details as prescribed.
